I got a rice cooker as a wedding gift. C made me regiater for it even though I didn’t want to because his parents have used the same rice cooker for 35 years. I used it a few times, it never worked right… always burned the rice and it was too hard to clean. I use the stovetop.

First off, the same thing happened to me yesterday, so it clearly has somthing to do with the way the planets are aligned this week. Second, to everyone who can make rice on the stove without issues, you are liers who make up lies to brag.

my rice cooker has never failed me. you’re putting in too much water, or using the wrong kind of rice. Or the damn 9 year olds they have working on the assembly line in taiwan effed when they made yours.

Get yourself to your nearest Chinatown and buy a rice cooker there. Don’t go for these cheap American (but made in China) knock-offs. Our rice cooker is decades old and always makes perfect rice. Or perhaps you should just burn an incense to the kitchen gods and your cooker will be perfect once again.

Hmm ! Very puzzling I never have any problems with my rice cooker. It looks very similar to the one you have in the picture.

the saaaaaaaaaaaaaaaame thing happened to me monday night. I was trying to make dinner for a new mom. grrrrrrrrrrrrr. its a rice cooker revolt! we must stop this revolution or there will be rice cooker anarchy!

People who buy rice cookers make me cry (Thanks, Sarah. I REALLY appreciate crying in the morning). Stove-top rice cookin’ is mui grande bueno easy and when you feed people rice from the stove, you have license to cry out as you fill their plates, “BEHOLD! LOOK UPON WHAT MY HANDS HAVE WROUGHT THROUGH THE BOILING OF WATER AND WITHOUT THE HELP OF SINGLE-PURPOSE KITCHEN CRAP! FEAR ME!”. And seriously…isn’t that everyone’s dream?
