Is it Supposed to Snow in April?

Look, I grew up in Florida. I know all about Spring Break. You’re supposed to be very, very drunk on the beach, not driving around in the snow with two sick kids.

(Yeah, I know it’s a crappy picture, but I took it with my cell phone when I was driving.)

Anyway, we’re home. The cats are happy. I know Gabe will be happy when he gets home from work. Gabe’s parents are happy to get their Grandchildren back in town, and it just feels good to be back at home.

Even if it is cold.

Hope everyone had a great time. Sorry for the sickies.
The weekend weather has been strange all over – we’re in the low 60′s for a high here in Florida. As you know, it should be 80, at least.
I just checked out the weather in Charlotte. YIKES! Really glad I haven’t moved there yet, it’s going down into the low 20′s tonight. Now, I’m really wishing I hadn’t seen that.
Glad you’re home safe – even if you’re cold.

While you were driving? In the snow? Does your mother know about this?

We did a neighborhood easter egg hunt today. In practically white-out conditions. Odd, this weather thing. Welcome home.

  4. Zandria says:

No, it’s definitely not supposed to snow in April! This sucks! Where’s the warm spring-like temps we had last week?

  5. Senja says:

Just be glad you’re not living in Toronto. I won’t describe how much snow fell today. Will I ever pack the snowsuits away?

Don’t worry, it’s fairly common for it to snow in this area in April. Just wear a wool bikini at the beach.

  7. Yeah this weather is all just too cruel. Last week it was in the 80′s here and now it’s in the 40′s…

Mother Nature sure seems to be having a bad case of PMS lately. Just in the last week we’ve had snow, 80 degree weather, and rain.

No, it’s not supposed to snow in April! I’ve had enough too!

  12. L.A. Daddy says:

Oy, that’s bad. It’s the opposite for us – we’ve had an eighth of an inch of rain in the past two years, so it’s gonna be a long hot summer of “don’t turn on your sprinklers!” messages.

And they say there’s no global warming…

  13. Becky says:

No, it’s not supposed to snow in April. It’s also not supposed to be colder here on Easter than it was on Christmas Day. What’s up with that? I’ve got one sick, and the rest of us will probably follow throughout the week.

    I’m glad you’re home safe. :)

Yeah, I’m thinking about this weather … not so much!

  16. Michelle says:

and to think you used to think I was brave for travelling with Gabriel so much. I don’t think I would be brave enough to travel with him now by myself on a long road trip and you took 2 kids. I am impressed! Glad you are home safe!

We drove to Indiana to pick up a ’71 Challenger this weekend! It was snowing in Kentucky. Being a Florida native myself, I kept saying is that snow – Tommy kept saying it can’t be, It is April. Then it really came down adn we both started acting like school kids (Florida school kids – he is from Florida too)

  18. markira says:

We got a foot and a half of snow last week. This is just WRONG, people! mk

We had a very cold flippin’ Easter in Maryland too. 40 degrees, what a bite. Christmas day this year was warmer than Easter. Doesn’t make a damn bit of sense!
