I just wanted to let you know how Traffic Experiment #2 is going.
Now that I unbolded (Shut up. It could be a word. You don’t know.) your search term suggestions things are finally working.
Our current leaders are Ali with Homer Simpson vagina tattoo and Tammy with forcing your husband to wear panties.
I was so fascinated by Ali’s search term about the vagina tattoo that I did some research. You people are NEVER going to believe this: do not click this link at work. (I should have known that Susie Bright would come through for me.)
I’ll give you another update sometime next week. The kids and I are also going to draw a winner for our other contest this afternoon. (There is still time to enter to win).
In the meantime Ian and I will be at the ENT trying to figure out why he drools so much.
(For a recap of all of the terms in the contest click more – if you’ve already seen them, don’t click more.)

Ian: Do you need to go down and switch over the laundry?
Me: No. Why?
Ian: (grinning)
Me: Do you want to do something down there?
Ian: No. Don’t you need to do anything downstairs?
Me: No.
Ian: Are you sure?
Me: I’m sure. Why do you want me to go downstairs so much? What are you going to do up here?
Ian: I don’t want you to see me standing on the table.

Postpartum depression is an illness. It is real and it isn’t funny.
Anyone who has been through this themselves or is close to anyone that has suffered from PPD understands how serious it can be.
Today is Blog Day for MOTHERS Act.
the MOTHERS Act (Mom’s Opportunity to Access Help, Education, Research, and Support for Postpartum Depression) will ensure that new moms and their families are educated about postpartum depression, screened for symptoms, and provided with essential services. In addition, it will increase research into the causes, diagnoses and treatments for postpartum depression.
In honor of the MOTHERS act, I will be giving away a signed copy of The Ghost in the House: Motherhood, Raising Children, and Struggling with Depression
by Tracy Thompson.
No, I didn’t sign it Tracy did. (I mean, I suppose I could sign it too, but that seems kind of silly since Tracy is much cooler than I am and she wrote the book and all I did was read it like some commoner.) And don’t worry. I’m not giving away my own copy. She signed this one just for you guys.
All you have to do to win the book is leave a comment here and I’ll draw a winner at random.
Please support the MOTHERS Act.
Thanks.

Today it was my day to be the mommy in the classroom at our co-op preschool.
My favorite quote of the day came when I took Ian, Claudia and one other little girl to the bathroom. The other little girl (I won’t tell you her name, but if you are one of the other parents of a kid in our class you could probably guess) knows a lot about the difference between girls and boys. She said:
“Girls pee sitting down. Boys have squeezers.”

Quick – somebody find this laptop! A lifetime supply of beer could save me a lot of money in the long run. (Thanks Lori.)
Queer Eye for the Straight Guy is airing its final season. I’m just surprised because I thought it went off of the air a long time ago. How does Ted Allen have time to do that show, Top Chef and Iron Chef? He writes books too!
That guy is all over the place.
I still haven’t seen Titanic. Is that strange?
Since I can’t seem to win crap on winzy, and you’ve all already joined blingo (which, hurry up and search and win us something already, I’m only about $6 away from having enough money in amazon gift certificates to buy Guitar Hero III
) I’ve got a new one for you. LuckySearch. I haven’t actually won anything yet, but I just signed up today, and it keeps telling me I don’t have any friends and it is making me feel like a big loser.
Lori and I both feel guilty that we laughed when we read the headline: Elephants Electrocuted in Drunken Rampage.
