The Goon Squad is in the bath tub playing with their little plastic fish. Claudia is making her fish jump around like crazy.
Claudia: Look Mommy! My fish are rockin’ out!
Me: Very nice. What are song they dancing to?
Claudia: Mirror in the Bathroom.
Of course, because deep down inside don’t all fish rock out to The English Beat?

Wow. That’s pretty eclectic for someone that wasn’t around to appreciate it in the 80s. Every time I think of that song now, I recall the scene in Grosse Pointe Blank where John Cusack is beating the snot out of the assassin next to his old high school locker. Such a great flick.

This is my favorite post of yours I’ve ever read. EVER. That your daughter would, first of all, assert that her fish are “rockin’ out” is awesome in and of itself. That your daughter would then state that the song to which they are rockin’ out is “Mirror in the Bathroom” is too rad for words.
