A Big Big Brown Surprise

Claudia just told me that I was going to have a “Big, big brown surprise”.

I feel fairly confident that she isn’t referring to the big brown machine.

Oh, she just said it will be “The biggest surprise you have ever seen”.

The good news: She is sitting on the potty. We may be in the midst of a breakthrough.

The bad news: I’m kind of scared.

Update: She was not kidding. She wasn’t kidding on any accounts.

  1. Today the 2 year old sat on the toilet and pooped. I was so proud. Now we have to figure out how to talk off the big boy pants and his other clothes before sitting down. *sigh*

  2. Very funny - love the picture!

  3. I’m jealous. My youngest daughter’s big brown surprises are ALWAYS in her panties. Somehow she is always surprised that the Big Brown is coming, and can’t make it on time. Yuck!

  4. you can lift that jinx you placed on me a while back now. She still isn’t going to the potty again. I think that it was just a phase, and she’s over it now. She tells me that she has to go, but we can’t make it to the potty before she GOES! Thank goodness we’re still in pullups. I’m sure that we should have bought stock in Huggies. We’d be rich by now.

  5. Excellent news… speaking from personal experienece, don’t call it a ‘great big turd’… it will be repeated; alot.

  6. Aw, Dora panties! Seriously, though, this whole topic just freaks me out. Can I just keep Boo in diapers until she’s 5?

  7. Only a person going through potty training their own kid, or someone that has in the past, can say this -

    Congratulations to Claudia!

  8. A milestone to be forever remembered. Great photo.

  9. Yay for her!

I would have been scared too. Oh, the joys of potty training…

  10. I find this to be a very disturbing blogpost on many levels… But alas, different strokes for different folks.

  11. you never fail to raise a giggle …the things kids say are priceless.
Good on her for sitting on the potty and doing what she should be doing. Celebrate.

  12. OMG that was just so frickin’ funny.

Thank ypu. Thank you very much.

  13. I babysat my best friend’s toddler last night. She informed me she had to go potty on the big girl toilet so off we went.

I would just like to know how it is possible so much waste can be produced by such a little body. I almost had a septic problem- again! LOL.

  14. That is hilarious. (I would think so though.)

p.s. Am I doing something wrong? Why do I have to type my info every time?

  15. LMAO!!! That is hysterical!!! We’re still waiting for our big brown surprise here. Amazing the things that will excite us.

  16. ewww.

  17. That picture is hilarious. And hey I recognize those underdrawers.

I finally got my big brown surprise last night from my almost 3-year-old! (And of course promptly blogged about it.)
