I have EOJBC (Awwww yeah, acroynm baby), on VHS cassette. My bro gave it to me as a Christmas present in high school. I also have Dot and the Red Kangaroo on VHS *and* DVD. Does anyone else know Dot? I freaking loved that cartoon in a weird, twisted way. I’d cry and cry and cry at the end when the kangaroo went away and Dot would scream for it. I’m tearing up right now. PMS, me? Naw. What were we posting about?

OMG! When I saw the DVD in the store last Christmas I had to buy it! I took it to my parents’ house and we watched ot over and over and .. . .. My kids and nephews thought we were all alightly on the nuts side as we sang and lughed our asses off! I highly recommend the DVD, it comes complete with goofs! (my brain is a mash today and I can’t think of the real word, so sorry!)

One day my kids will appreciate the jug band Christmas!

My grandmother recorded “Emmet Otter’s Jug Band Christmas” for me when I was little. I haven’t seen that in so long that I don’t remember any of the songs (if I saw it, I could probably sing along with them though), and barely remember the plot.

But I always remember how much I liked Emmet’s mom.

Also, I still think you are funny, even if your kids don’t.

When I was a kid, we didn’t have HBO.

I had a small black and white TV in my room, and my sister had an identical one in her room. If I turned mine to channel 6, I could pick up HBO reasonably well, albeit a snowy sometimes wavy black and white one. However, there was no sound.

Channel 6 on my sister’s TV wouldn’t pick up a picture, but it would get the sound. Together, we had HBO. We’d drag our TVs in together, and turn the sound down on one, and the picture down on the other.

And we’d lay there on the floor play Clue and watch Emmet Otter and Xanadu.

HBO never looked as good to me as it did when I was 9.
