I also find that when the pipes are clogged, you do some pre-plumber troubleshooting by means of, “Oh dear child, what the HELL did you stick in there!”

I laughed at this, it is familiar. At least you both have another person to share blame with. I recently called the electrician because there was no power to my washer (I could tell because the power button would not light up) and when he showed up realized it was because the power button does not light up when the door to the washer is open. I have had the washer for a couple of years.
