If somehow you haven’t seen one of these yet, there is a list of words and a few questions asked. The participants make videos of themselves saying all of the words and letting everyone hear their accents.

At first I wasn’t going to do this. I am from Ohio. I don’t have an accent.

After watching Sam’s video and Holly’s video I realized that we all have accents. So here I am.*

*So I recorded about 5 of these because I felt so bad about what I said about y’all in my first video and ended up using it anyway. I love many people from the south, but when I was in 7th grade I decided to take it as a compliment when people called me a Yankee and so I made it a point not to say y’all. Also when I did say ya’ll my Ohio friends made fun of me. I hope I didn’t offend anybody.

In any case Day 2 is something I love about myself.

Day 2 is much harder than day 1. I can pick out 50 things that I hate about myself, but I am unaccustomed to sanctioned gloating.

This is actually hard. For a fairly self-confident person the more I think about it the more it seems I am mostly filled with self-loathing.

Um…

Here is what I like about myself: I crack me up.

Seriously, I think I am hilarious. Sometimes I am looking for an old post and I read something I wrote and I really make myself laugh. Other times I will be just standing all by myself in the grocery store and think of something funny and laugh out loud.

The worst is when that happens in public restrooms.

The best is when I completely forget that I wrote something and I run across it and it amuses me again. Like this or this.

I always get a kick out of the Top Chef recaps I write for MamaPop.

Sometimes my post titles make me laugh.

Oh, and this OH? Yeah, I said that.

The answer, by the way, is that everything tastes too sweet. Eggs shouldn’t be sweet.

Then there are the classics, like the time my underpants fell down at Tae Kwon Do (which I think would be much more amusing if it weren’t a true story), or when Ian accidentally pooped on the floor (this would also be funnier if it weren’t true) or this – you know – I might actually be laughing at myself instead of with myself. I should really be in therapy.

In the meantime, I’ll be working on this list every Monday and Wednesday until I forget or chicken out.

Obviously I have mad photography skillz. I am sure my intent was to include my hand and the towel hanging on the back of the door. I can’t decide if the focal point of this picture is the glare in the bath tub, my engagement ring or the cord to the blow dryer.

What was I doing ten years ago? Planning my wedding. Well, technically ten years ago I was planning on getting engaged – but close enough. GAbe and I were living in an apartment just down the street from Universal Studios Orlando. I was working for a production company.

Six random and weird things about me.

1) Back in the days of cds I used to play something I called “The Game” which involved listening to every one of my cds in alphabetical order.

I had well over 1000 cds.

I did this about once a year.

It took months.

2) I am obsessed with Keens.

3) There are over 200 books on my “to read” list.

4) I wanted to name my child Gruden after the Bucs won the Super Bowl but Gabe said that was crazy.

5) I hate “American Idol” and I won’t watch “Survivor” but I have no problem watching the reality shows about hair salons on Bravo.

6) I take surveys for money. A lot. Seriously. I’ve been doing this one for years. I’ve made hundreds of dollars this way.

That is all.

Now normally I am not this prompt about anything, but since hers was the first blog I ever read (yes, I owe most of the credit for this mess of a blog to her) and since I’ve know her for close to 30 years – and since I haven’t sent her a gift for her beautiful new baby girl yet (and also since I still have a Santana onesie that she left at my house three years ago – I bet she forgot about that one) I thought I would do this one right away.

Plus it is a book meme, and you know I’m a sucker for a good book meme.

To be perfectly honest, the closest book to me is the new Cabela’s catalogue (Sorry, catalog). For some reason they sent Gabe the hard back edition yesterday. We were browsing elk drawer pulls and night vision goggles before I got distracted by the fact that they sell Keen shoes now. (Have I mentioned how much I love Keens?)

Anyway, to answer the meme it would be this:

1) I am obsessed with checking the search terms that bring people to my blog. Yesterday I got a hit for ‘my vagina is huge!’ and I shot beer out of my nose when I read it.

2) Speaking of obsessions, I think I spend more time than is healthy messing around in my Netflix queue. Right now I have 483 movies in there. I could belong to Netflix for 20 years and never watch them all.

3) My daughter informed me today that her children, my grandchildren,  were going to be bad kids. Great.

4) I can’t stand Eric Bana. I don’t know why.

5) I am currently mad at the Palm people. I bought a new Palm Pilot in February. I read most of my books this way and I also play hours of Scrabble, Monopoly and solitaire on it because I can’t sit still and watch tv, but I love to watch tv. My palm has a dead spot in the upper right hand corner. This means that I can’t play the sudoku I downloaded because I can’t use the number 2. Anyway, I called the Palm people and even though I registered it and everything they want $150 to fix it.  $150!!! A new one costs $199. Bastards.

6) I took this quiz to see which candidate I should support and it said I have the most in common with Bill Richardson. Who knew? I also share a lot of views with Joe Biden, Mike Gravel and Rudy Giuliani*. I’ve didn’t even know Mike Gravel was running for president**. It also appears that Tom Tancredo and I would probably not get along very well.

7) I rarely tag people for memes anymore because I am afraid I will either offend someone by tagging them or offend them by not tagging them. I know – it doesn’t make a bit of sense.
