Not bad, for a sick girl

I woke up this morning (at 5:40 am) with a sore throat and s stuffy nose. I was sure this was going to be a terrible day. I knew I was getting sick last night, I even went to bed before eight, and a lot of good stuff is on TV on Sunday nights. Anyway, I felt so crappy this morning, I even talked to Gabe about the possibility of him coming home early.

However, the kids have been good this morning. We had a nice breakfast, and nobody threw any food on the floor. They politely signed “all done” when they were finished eating, and they spent 30 minutes watching “Baby Neptune” (The Baby Einstein DVD about water). Then we read some books, and they accurately pointed out clock and socks and all of the cats (Claudia loves saying kitty). Then they showed me the signs for fish and ice cream and banana and apple, then ice cream again.

I just put The Squad down for a nap, and they didn’t fight or complain. (They are usually pretty good about napping anyway). I can hear both the birds AND the fish, so I know they are awake, but there is no screaming. Plus, I found a big thing of my Mom’s turkey soup in the freezer, and that always makes me feel better when I have a cold.

It looks like this day isn’t going to be so bad after all.

  1. I may have spoken too soon. It is now 8:29 and Ian is crying a lot. I went in there to see what was wrong and he smiled at me. Crap.

  2. If it makes you feel any better its 530am on the West Coast and I’m up with a semi-snotty, but uber cranky 6 month old. The toddler is finally knocked out after a 2am motrin/triaminic dose.

  3. Okay, now all I hear is spitting and laughing. I don’t know if that is good or bad, but they are cracking me up.

  4. I’m at work. It’s been a major pain in my ass today. But I don’t envy you.
