The best thing that could have possibly happened to Ian happened when I was in Chicago.
Well, I must be on Nick Jr.’s mailing list, because while I was away I got a press kit for Yo Gabba Gabba. It had a DVD with an entire episode on it (thank the Gods, now I can stop watching the trailer on YouTube over and over and over) and a CD with some songs on it.
Ian lost his mind. We have easily watched this DVD 35 times. You know what? I don’t mind. I kind of like it. It is quirky, and funny, and almost throwback. Elijah Wood taught my kids how to do The Puppet Master dance. Mark Mothersbaugh (yeah, the guy from Devo that now does movie scores) draws a picture of a potato bug on a skateboard.
How could I not love this show? And The Goon Squad is mesmerized. HYPNOTIZED. This particular episode also encourages them to try new food and clean up after themselves.
Brainwash away Yo Gabba Gabba. These are lessons I want them to know.
Plus, I can get some writing and laundry done while they are glued to the tv.
Thanks Nick Jr. Feel free to send me stuff like this anytime.
