I don’t work for Amazon, but my friend John has a Kindle and really likes it. He’s written a few posts about it on his blog; if you start here, and then search his site for “kindle”, you’ll find the rest of the posts.

While you are waiting you could try http://www.booksinmyphone.com They give away out of copyright and creative commons books packaged up to be read on cell phones.
Sure, the screen is smaller than kindle but it really is very readable and so much more ‘mobile’. Like Kindle you can browse and download ‘over the air’ at mobile.booksinmyphone.com or install via a PC.
If you get it and use it, let me know what you think. I’ve been staring at that for a bit too.

I’m curious but I doubt it would ever replace books for me.
I think they look rather ugly.

I had an ebook when they first came out in like 2000 I think, I loved it…then they went under because no one was purchasing the ebook. Now that I’ve been burned, I don’t know if I’d ever purchase Kindle…but I’m sure it’s glorious!!
Oh, good, I’m glad I’m not the only one! I totally want one — I’ll go all e-book in a minute as soon as they make them, y’know, reasonable. But the pricing on this thing is outrageous!
